Metode yang digunakan dalam penulisan ini yaitu pengumpulan data dengan melakukan survei arkeologi di Kawasan Danau Sentani dan Kota Jayapura, wawancara dan studi pustaka. Penulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui strategi militer dalam Perang Pasifik di Jayapura, serta mengetahui dampak langsung Perang Pasifik terhadap Jayapura dan penduduknya. Jayapura pada Perang Dunia II atau Perang Pasifik menjadi medan pertempuran langsung antara Jepang dan Sekutu.
